I suggest that both classical versions of deontology (which holds that rightness of action is an intrinsic character), and teleology (which puts goodness of action's consequences as the only criterion of rightness), are invalid. Rightness of action depends on two principles: principle of duty and principle of consequence. The principle of duty is the primary principle which determines our prima facie duty; the principle of consequence is the secondary principle which may confirm or contradict principle of duty. It is crucial to find some way to resolve the conflict of these two principles. If these principles are not contradictory, then there is no problem in act. But if they are contradictory, that is, the principle of duty obligates us to act for the intrinsic rightness of action, and principle of consequence prohibits us from acting for the badness of action's consequences, we will encounter a huge problem. I have proposed some suggestions to resolve this problem. I think that there are different types of duties and consequences which should be regarded differently. It is necessary to make two distinctions: 1) to distinguish between duties from right and duties from virtue; here I have benefited from Kant's terminology; and 2) to distinguish between utilizing consequence, harming consequence and Duty- consequence. Sometimes consequences of doing an action are utilizing to agent or other people, sometimes they are harming to them, and sometimes it does not have any utilizing or harming consequence – but causes us to abandon a duty doing which is obligatory. I name this Duty- consequence. I have prepared a Table which includes all types of conflicts between these five categories. 2228-52533920130421Memory, Loyalty and Typology in Ethical Issues Using Jungian Functions of Mindبررسی خاطره، وفاداری و نوعشناسی اخلاقی یا استفاده از کارکردهای یونگی ذهن304719544FAJournal Article20160429One of the main problems in moral philosophy is the question about the influence of determinism in moral attitude and behavior of mankind. Determinism is therefore worth studying – both for the thought that believes in freedom in moral actions and the one that believes in the crucial role of determinants in moral issues. Psychological and physiological determinants are among the main topics in determinism. This paper first studies some psychic and cognitive functions of human mind as introduced by C. G. Jung. Then it presents an analysis of the concepts of time, memory and loyalty and shows the relationship between these concepts and the Jungian psychic functions. It argues that loyalty – as a virtue based on memory – is bound up with cognitive characteristics and potentials of mind. It also introduces the cognitive index for ethical attitude and vision. In this direction it also introduces the concept of ethical rigidity as a part of human thought and action. In history of thought, certain thinkers have already used some temperament theories and extended their application toward ethical attitudes of human. The difference between the old, classic methods and the one presented in this paper comes from the fact that a personality typology theory based on human intrinsic mind and brain cognitive functions is being introduced here. 2228-52533920130421The Role of Love in Ethical Life from the Perspective of Transcendent Theosophyنقش محبت در زندگی اخلاقی از منظر حکمت متعالیه498119545FAJournal Article20160429The basis of ethical life, for Mulla Sadra, is love, and real love is love of God – which is a manifestation of the divine love for human beings. If someone truly loves God, s/he ascends to the level that all human beings – which are the various manifestations of God – will become his/her beloved. Such a person regards himself (as well as others) as the 'beloved' in personal ethics, economics, and social life. By making a distinction between passionate love and divine love, Mulla Sadra states that either kind is a sort of servantship. A sensual love for something – whether it is a wooden or stone idol, properties and children or mundane stations – cannot be anything other than polytheism; because this is a devotion and servantship to things other than God. But the divine love – which can also be termed as the Love of knowledge and wisdom – is antipathetic to the passions of the soul and on the face of its mundane objects, since true believers see all things as the divine manifestations. Knowledge of God's perfection and His beauty is what causes man to love by heart, as we read this Prophet's Tradition that 'God is beautiful and loves Beauty.' This is to say that God is beautiful and because the world a reflection of Him, it cannot be but beautiful. By speculating on the world and meditating about it, human being's love for God increases, because Beauty characteristically creates a joyfulness that is only achieved by one who has purified his heart from all stains; one who has attained to the 'station of love'. Achieving this position is, among all creatures, characteristic to human beings, because they are of the properties that cannot be found in other beings.
839819546FAJournal Article20160429The later capitalism, along with increasing the productions, raising the level of general welfare, spreading possibilities and opportunities, and the more democratizing of society, brings together the most control and the most liberty has ever seen in the history. By the consumerism it provides fluid societies, with firm political systems. In this article by introducing consumerism as a system with positive feedback, I’d show how capitalism by relating social identity to consumption and changing it to an arms race, controls it as an order of signs. 2228-52533920130421On the Origin of Culture and its Change and Managementتحلیلی فلسفی از منشأ فرهنگ و امکان تغییر و برنامهریزی برای آن9911819547FAJournal Article20160429In its philosophical sense, the word "culture" maybe said to have both non-human and human origins. One kind of culture (and its components and elements) is inherently non-human, and hence a gift from God. Another kind of culture originates from human thinking. As for the latter, it is logical and acceptable to speak of cultural planning and management. The first category, however, is slightly more complicated and controversial. This article is an attempt to make a distinction between these two types of culture and suggest that not only cultural programming for the explanation of human cultures is possible, but also we can plan for cultures with non-human origin. This is to say that although culture and sophism have non-human origin, it is possible to protect and promote their heritage in different places and times by human beings. 2228-52533920130421The Concept of Solidarity in Thought of Richard Rortyمفهوم همبستگی در اندیشهی ریچارد رورتی11914219548FAJournal Article20160429As an analytic philosopher in postmodern thought who has pragmatic views on vocabulary and language, Rorty deconstructs various problems of philosophy. Hence, he questions the entire traditional epistemology with all its categories (such as Truth, objectivity, wisdom, etc). In his opinion, traditional philosophers (Plato, Descartes and Kant) believed in ahistorical and ahumanistic realities (such as Truth, good, God, etc), considering human beings as a servant and discoverers of eternal reality. Against these opinions, Rorty suggest the issue of solidarity; in other words, pragmatic agreements on the various issues are influenced by norms of private society. Rorty believes that if we confine the relationship between self and world, we will accept the idea that it is us who give the world a meaning by making new vocabulary – and apart from this vocabulary which are instruments of coping with environment, there is no reality. In this new paradigm, we think by creating Truth instead of solidarity to human-like creatures of their environment, indeed those who overcome the environment are not like those who are at the service of the supreme creature. These instruments will help us to reinforce solidarity among human beings in order to move in the direction of a justice-oriented and free society which is far from any discrimination and suffering. Thus Truth will show itself in dynamisms of that society. Rorty looks for problem of traditional epistemology in attracting of realistic approach to various problems of philosophy. So he is an anti-realist philosopher who explains various philosophical concepts including the traditional concept of Truth. He suggests replacing the traditional concept of Truth (which is based on correspondence theory of Truth) with the concept of solidarity – and claims that there is nothing to suggest that the concept of solidarity has realistic elements and that solidarity (like other concepts made by mankind) is based on pragmatic interests. This article attempts to examine Rorty's claims.
