فیلمسفه یا فیلم به مثابه‌ی فلسفه: جستاری در امکان فلسفه‌پردازی از طریق فیلم

چکیده
نسبت میان فیلم و فلسفه به آن سادگی‌ها که در بدو امر به نظر می‌رسد نیست. از سویی، فیلسوفان به بحث در باب ماهیّت فیلم می‌پردازند و مثلاً می‌پرسند که چه چیزی یک فیلم ضبط‌شده را به اثری هنری تبدیل می‌کند؟ و، از سوی دیگر، پاره‌ای از فیلم‌سازان می‌کوشند تا از مضامین فلسفی در آثارشان استفاده کنند و، به تعبیری، فیلم فلسفی بسازند. امّا ماجرا به همین جا ختم نمی‌شود و دعوی سومی نیز در دهه‌های اخیر طرح شده است: این که فیلم‌ها می‌توانند فلسفه‌ورزی کنند. این رهیافت تازه را معمولاً «فیلم به مثابه‌ی فلسفه«، «فیلم‌ـ‌فلسفه«، یا «فیلمسفه» می‌خوانند. استدلال‌های چندی در دفاع از این فرضیّه اقامه شده است و هر کدام از مدافعان این دعوی تازه، از طلایه‌دارانی چون کَوِل گرفته تا فیلسوفان حاضری چون وارتنبرگ و کرول، استدلال‌ها و تبیین‌های خاصّ خود را پیش نهاده‌اند. در جستار حاضر، از منظری دیگر، کوشیدیم تا نشان دهیم که فیلم‌ها از شش وجه می‌تواند در مقام فلسفه‌ورزی ایفای نقش کنند. یعنی هستند فیلم‌های که به شرح نکته‌ای فلسفی می‌پردازند، فیلم‌هایی که طرح‌مسأله می‌کنند، فیلم‌هایی که دفاعیّه یا ردّیّه‌ای بر موضعی فلسفی عرضه می‌دارند، فیلم‌هایی که برنهاد فلسفی اقامه می‌کنند، و فیلم‌هایی که در مقام استذکار و یادآوری عمل می‌کنند.

Filmosophy or Film as Philosophy: An Essay in Possibility of Pholosophizing through Film

چکیده English

The relation between film and philosophy is not so easy that firstly seems. On the one hand, philosophers discuss the nature of film and, for example, ask: what makes a recording a work of art? And, on the other hand, some filmmakers attempt to utilize philosophical themes in their works and produce philosophical movies. But it is not the whole story, and a third claim has been proposed in recent dedicates: Some movies can philosophize. This new approach usually is called “film as philosophy”, “film-philosophy”, or “filmosophy”. Several arguments have been advanced in defense of this hypothesis, and every defender of this claim has proposed their own explanations. In this essay, we try to show from a different position, that movies can do philosophy in six ways. That is, there are movies that make an account of a philosophical point, movies that ask some philosophical questions, movies that defend or deny a philosophical position, movies that propose a philosophical thesis, and movies that remind us important things.
