The effect of music on human psychology has been a subject of interest for numerous thinkers throughout history. It is uncommon to encounter a scholar who has made impactful contributions in both philosophical and natural scientific domains as well as in musical theory. Ibn Sina recognized for his proficiency in medicine alongside his distinctive ontological views, has emerged as a significant figure among historical theorists of music. This descriptive-analytical research investigates Ibn Sina's perspective on the influence of music on the soul by analyzing his medical and philosophical writings. The results suggest that Ibn Sina’s understanding of music's impact on the psyche is fundamentally linked to his conceptualization of its origins. He posits that this origin is inherently biological and associated with the soul's intrinsic longing for connection with others to express thoughts and intentions. As individuals undergo spiritual development and transcendence, their capacity for emotional expression and interaction with other souls evolves into a means of conveying abstract concepts and rational ideas, ultimately fostering a relationship with both the active intellect and the general soul.
