Analyzing the influence of gender on the perfection and happiness of the soul from the perspective of Mulla Sadra

The purpose of this article is to investigate the effect of gender on the perfection and happiness of the soul from the point of view of Mulla Sadra. The discussion of gender has not been a concern of Mulla Sadra, and the only cases that have indirect references to gender issues in his works are the discussion of the place of masculinity in the self or the mention of women in some topics as examples. However, the rules of philosophical psychology offer a good opportunity to explain the effect of gender on the soul and the issues surrounding it, including perfection and happiness.

He believes that the perfection of the soul depends on the perfection of the intellect, both theoretical and practical, and human happiness depends on reaching the end of the theoretical intellect. Examining the rules of transcendental wisdom, including the essential movement of the soul, the influence and place of the body in the soul, the soul's evolution from matter to spirituality, and the effect of learning and education on the intellectual development, can be a place for theorizing about the emerging discussion of gender. The investigation shows that according to the aforementioned rules, gender is effective in the process of self-fulfillment, but in the highest stages of self-fulfillment, i.e. reaching the full rational reality of the self, all determinations, including gender, disappear.
