Abstract
The mimetic form has existed in Islamic philosophy for a long time, and Muslim philosophers such as Al-Farabi and Ibn Sina, when examining the power of imagination, vision, revelation, and the alam-al-mithal, have reached its example, but its cognitive nature has not been taken seriously by them. We find examples of The mimetic form in both science and art, especially poetry that is based on The mimetic form. The existence of the mimetic form in science is very efficient and has made an impact in the advancement of knowledge. Through mimetic forms, poets and artists have been carriers of knowledge. This article aims to examine the nature of mimetic form and determine its characteristics. Discovering the nature of mimetic form and its effectiveness in advancing knowledge will clarify the importance of art in this realm. The research method of this article is analysis and explanation. And the result is that mimetic form is another type of cognition, which is efficient in many fields, including science, in addition to image correspondence.
